We are in the final months before Phase 1 of our project is complete!
As we wait, we are in need of a space to adequately support our competitive youth programming.
Our goal is to raise $12,000, to make consistent access to the YMCA possible over the next 6-8 months. Each gift you make toward this campaign will help us #rowstronger in 2024!
At Brick City Rowing, your investment enables us to meet our goals: increase collegiate opportunities, improve training conditions for our youth, and create greater access for our community - a mission worth fighting for.
Brick City Rowing will fund and build a state of the art dock to serve our community for decades to come. BCR athletes, families, local community organizations, and recreational craftsmen/women will gain greater access to the Passaic River.
A 300 foot floating dock system, will enable us to facilitate youth rowing within the City of Newark, while having minimal impact on the natural habitat of the Passaic River.
With the dock installed and basic capital/landscaping improvements to our site complete, we can take two critical steps towards establishing a new home for our youth.
With the dock installed and basic capital/landscaping improvements to our site complete, programming for the youth of Newark can begin immediately (without the construction of our future boathouse).
Our goal is to begin by expanding our competitive program offerings to middle school students (both female and male) throughout the city. Learn-to-Row sessions and summer camps will be available for other age groups as well. The installation of the dock in conjunction with the aforementioned capital/landscaping improvements will allow us to host regattas within the City of Newark, for the first time since 1901.
BCR is committed to partnering with the City of Newark, NJ Transit, locally owned restaurants, hotels, and retail vendors to support these events within our city.
The people of Newark are strong and resilient. Our kids and families should have access to the best facilities in America. Together we can make that a reality - building a boathouse for our community and by our community.
Brick City Rowing is committed to collaborating with Municipal & County leaders, prominent architects, and donors to build a state-of-the-art boathouse that our community will be proud of.
Students and families throughout the city will gain greater access and be able to enjoy the Passaic River in a new way.
